SOME parts of Mountain Province and nearby areas will have no power for 12 hours today due to a scheduled shutdown of some transmission facilities, the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) said.

In an advisory, the NGCP said the power outage will start at 6 a.m. up to 6 p.m. and will affect the entire Mt. Province Electric Cooperative Inc. (MOPRECO) franchise area.

Among those to be affected are Sabangan, Bauko, Tadian, Besao, Sagada, Bontoc, Sadanga, Barlig, Natonin and Paracelis in Mt. Province. Those in Cervantes and Quirino in Ilocos Sur; and parts of Tinglayan, Kalinga and Balili in Mankayan, Benguet will also have the same power interruption schedule.

The NGCP said the outage aims to accom-modate the request of HEDCOR for tapping/ connection of their 69-kilovolt line segment to their substation.

“Normal operations will immediately resume after work completion,” NGCP said.

NGCP customers and the general public are advised to take the necessary preparations and precautions for the scheduled interruption.
