UNIQLO, Japan’s leading global apparel brand, opened its 17th
store in the Philippines located at the Power Plant Mall in Makati City on Friday.
The choice of Power Plant Mall was made to primarily serve residents of Makati City, the Philippines’ financial and business district.
Moreover, the area also has a growing reputation as an entertainment and lifestyle district. It is an ideal location for Uniqlo’s new store, which is envisioned to become a place for the family to shop for their clothes.
The brand held a store preview for the press on Monday, which was highlighted by a fashion show featuring Uniqlo’s Fall/Winter 2014 collection for Kids and Babies.
The expanded lineup, which believes that “kids should be free to be kids,” is centered on five ideas that should be incorporated in the design of the kids’ and babies’ clothes—freedom of movement, comfort, easier removal, fun designs and safety features to promote kids’ growth and health.
A private shopping party followed for the brand’s top clients who congratulated their favorite brand for such a well-laid out store.
Uniqlo is seen as an innovator in the global apparel industry because of its various product lines that are highly functional and of outstanding quality at an affordable price. This year, its campaign is called “LifeWear.”
The Philippines is the 12th country that Uniqlo has entered after opening stores in the US, UK, France, Russia, China, South Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The Japanese company also operates stores in other countries in Southeast Asia such as Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore.
