What do The Transfiguration Chapel or Calaruega Church in Batanags, San Antonio de Padua Parish, and Balesin Island have in common? They are sought-after wedding venues that are all situated in Region IV-A, or the Calabarzon area.
Recognizing this trend, Tagaytay City-based events company Destination Events and Business Solutions (DEBS) has pushed for the region to become the country’s wedding capital.
DEBS president Giselle de Leon said, “We have some of the oldest and most beautiful churches in the country. It is also home to some well known and up-and-coming designers, makeup artists, and photographers.”
She also noted that region’s strategic location and affordability compared to other cities and provinces make it the “most ideal place to hold that special moment in someone’s life.”
She is confident the Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon provinces can ably host all types of weddings while providing couples with a one-stop-shop for all their wedding needs.
With the help of DEBS, couples can also avail of packages that include a wedding dress, church services, and catering, along with video and photo services for as low as P300,000 or as much as P1 million. In Metro Manila or other urban areas, the cost of a complete wedding package and its accompanying services usually start at the given ceiling.
As part of the efforts to promote Region IV-A, DEBS is staging the “1st Weddings @ The South” expo from today until tomorrow at the SMX Convention Center in Taguig City. Participants number to over 50 wedding suppliers from the region including hotels, wedding venues, caterers, designers, photographers, makeup artists, florists, and event stylists. Special discounts are also available for visitors.
The 1st Weddings @ The South wedding expo was first staged in Singapore and Dubai, and will continue international road show in January 2015.
