Pope Francis has left the Apostolic Nunciature in Taft Avenue, Manila for Villamor Air Base, Pasay City where a PAL Airbus 340 is waiting to fly him and entourage direct back to Rome, Italy.

The Pontiff left Nunciature at 9:04 a.m.

On his way out, aboard his jeepney Popemobile, Pope Francis graciously waved to the crowds who gathered to bid him goodbye at Quirino Avenue, Nagtahan, and other sidestreets leading to Villamor Air Base.

These devotees and well-wishers have been congregating in these areas as early as 12 midnight in an effort to catch one more glimpse of the Pontiff, touted as the “Rockstar Pope.”

He is expected to reach Villamor Air Base within 15 to 20 minutes. PNA
