ZAMBOANGA CITY: A fire partially destroyed a public school in the province of Basilan, the police reported Saturday.
The Basilan Police Provincial Office reported the fire broke out around 6:20 p.m. Friday in Barangay Upper Port Holland, Maluso, Basilan.
The police said the fire has destroyed the principal’s office and the canteen of the Maluso National High School.
Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) personnel immediately responded to contain the blaze, which started at the school’s canteen.
The BFP has yet to determine the estimated cost of damage. PNA
