THE National Commission for Culture and Arts (NCCA) Gallery is calling artists for a chance to have their works exhibited at the NCCA Gallery. It is now accepting proposals for exhibitions for the year 2015.
A joint initiative by the National Committee on Visual Arts (NCVA) and the National Committee on Art Galleries (NCAG), the NCCA Gallery is dedicated contemporary arts.
Through the establishment of the gallery, both committees envision to help young artists get their much needed exposure without hampering their zest to explore new tendencies on the edge of current art making.
The new gallery is outfitted to accommodate video works and movable panels for installation pieces. Contemporary artists are welcome to submit their exhibit concept along with their portfolio should they wish to exhibit at the gallery.
To enter, artists must submit a letter of intent, addressed to NCVA or NCAG (a copy must be furnished to the NCCA Gallery secretariat); a brief description of the project, including concept and how the space will be used; a curatorial brief; profile/s and portfolio/s of artist/s; lay-out of proposed exhibit; curriculum vitae of exhibition curator; logistical requirements; and proposal for collateral activities (e.g. artist’s talks, workshops etc.).
Visit NCCA Web site to download the exhibit application guidelines (www.ncca.gov.ph/about-ncca/ncca-gallery/ncca-gallery.php). Deadline of submission is October 31.
The NCCA Gallery is at the ground floor of the NCCA Building, 633 General Luna Street, Intramuros, Manila. It is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday.
