Sandra Cam, president of the Whistleblowers Association of the Philippines, on Friday said she is just waiting for the right time to make public a video that she claims records intimate moments between Justice Secretary Leila de Lima and her bodyguard-lover, Ronnie Palisok Dayan.
Meanwhile, de Lima refused to comment on allegations that she has an illicit affair with Dayan and another one a few years ago with Cesar Mancao, a former police officer.
The Manila Times has been trying to get her side since Thursday afternoon but she had not answered a single phone call.
Although de Lima is invited to attend a Commission on Appointments (CA) hearing on June 11, Cam said the issue on the intimate video will not be tackled since Sen. Aquilino Pimentel 3rd “does not like it.”
“I will talk to my lawyers first before deciding if we will make public the video on or before the June 11 CA bicameral hearing,” the whistleblower added.
Showing up in a CA bicameral meeting on Thursday, the Justice secretary vowed to answer in writing issues raised by Cam against her, including the alleged affairs with Dayan and Mancao.
De Lima refused to discuss Cam’s allegations when asked by Sen. Jose “Jinggoy” Estrada.
“I do not want to publicly engage insofar as those issues are concerned. It’s too demeaning for me,” the Justice chief said.
De Lima has been in the Aquino Cabinet for four years but has yet to get the nod of all members of the appointments commission. The justice chief is now single since her marriage to Plaridel Bohol has been annulled.
Cam, in a recent forum, showed pictures of a farm in Urbiztondo, Pangasinan, which was allegedly paid for by de Lima. She claimed that de Lima also bankrolled the building of a house of Dayan’s wife in Negros Occidental.
According to Cam, Dayan has huge deposits in two banks – the Land Bank’s Padre Faura branch, and the Bank of the Philippine Islands at Philcoa, Quezon City.
She said Dayan is very influential at the Department of Justice where he is on the payroll.
Cam added that Dayan is a “fixer” at the department and influences de Lima in hiring and promoting personnel there and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
