3 dead, 14 others hurt as bus falls into ditch in Ilocos Norte

At least three passengers were killed and 14 others were injured after a bus fell into a ditch along the national highway before dawn Saturday in Ilocos Norte, police reports said.
Initial reports reaching Camp Crame placed the incident at around 3 a.m. on the highway in Barangay Saoit, Burgos town.
The bus, belonging to GMW company and driven by Roel Trinidad, was reportedly travelling from Cagayan to Vigan City.
The reports identified the fatalities as Beverly Palma, Hilda Acobo and Jing Bacuyag.
The injured were taken to the Bangui District Hospital.
The driver told police that he lost control of the wheel after someone threw a stone at the bus, smashing the windshield.
