Army firefighters and those of the Taguig City government are now battling a fire that struck the Army Support Command (ASCOM) in Fort Bonifacio Wednesday morning.
Initial reports said that the blaze started at around 10:30 a.m. at the Explosive Ordnance Division (EOD) which is located at the ASCOM compound.
Capt. Anthony Bacus, Army deputy spokesperson, confirmed that several explosions were heard before flames were seen from the EOD office.
One particularly large blast caused vibrations, he added.
Bacus said that some explosives are stored in the area.
Firefighting efforts are still ongoing as of this posting. PNA
